This purple shape represents the Glebe Farm Indian Reserve, which is part of the unsurrendered Eagle's Nest tract of land. Though the city of Brantford refuses to recognize the Glebe Farm Indian Reserve as belonging to the Haudenosaunee Six Nations Confederacy, and though neither the provincial or federal governments have stepped in to prevent Brantford from developing on this land, the land is clearly First Nations Land according to the Canadian government's own data.[1] What's more, the entire Eagle's Nest tract --of which this Glebe land is a part-- is under claim by the Haudenosaunee Six Nations, who have considerable documentation suggesting that this land still belongs to them.
As land under claim and under contested ownership, there should be no settlement or development upon any of the lands in the Eagle's Nest tract --including the Glebe lands-- at least, not until the Haudenosaunee claim to this land is settled (and only then if the Haudenosaunee Six Nations agree to, and are a partner to, such settlement and development).
More information on this tract of land is coming soon. Until then, see the information related to the Eagle's Nest claim, this map.
